
Position Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Position Summary:
Coordinates all in-process and final product specification and maintains testing and measurement equipment to ensure that the highest levels of quality, price and delivery are achieved in accordance with JMP policy and ISO 9000-2000 requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determines and detects product quality/workmanship problems and incorrect production and test methods prior to final inspection.
- Performs production approval and first article.
- Processes internal, vendor and customer non-conformances.
- Recommends corrective action to ensure conformity with customer and JMP quality specifications and standards.
- Conducts daily floor audits of production areas to ensure the effective implementation of the quality system, parts requirements and operating procedures.
- Calibrates and/or adjusts equipment in a timely manner.
- Communicates with employees, vendors and customers.
- Processes revision changes.
- Conducts internal audits of documentation system and ISO 9000-2000.
- Prepares certification of compliance.
- Performs receiving inspection, outgoing and in-process inspections when needed.
- Evaluates and initiates improvements to inspection methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Vocational college training or at least 2 years of experience in a quality-related field.
- Must possess sufficient geometry, trigonometry, and algebra skills to perform calculations associated with quality assurance.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to understand mechanical processes and draw conclusions from standard data, testing procedures, scientific information, and past practice.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge of materials in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to use hand held and other measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as welding symbols, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc..
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, vendors or customers.
- High attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Ability to read, speak and understand English to the extent necessary to perform all functions of the job.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively use computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office, JobBoss and Unipoint.
