Jones Metal Products, est. 1942 has new owners and has named new leadership for 2012
On October 13, 2011 Jones Metal Products made the following announcement to employees:
September 1st 2011: Marcia Jones Richards sold her majority share of Jones Metal Products to her children Jessica Richards-Palmquist of Fort Collins Colorado, Sarah and David Richards of Mankato Minnesota. The new owners become the 3rd generation in the family to own Jones Metal Products. The company was founded in 1942 by Mildred Page Jones, later owned by Mildred’s daughters Marcia Richards and Kay Jacobson and since 2000 solely owned by Marcia Richards.
After careful consideration the Richards family made the decision to continue family ownership of Jones Metal Products in 2008. The family is committed to the Jones Metal employees, customers, and the Greater Mankato Community.
In addition to the ownership change the board of directors has named Sarah Richards to the CEO position in January 2012. David Richards is the Purchasing Manager at Jones Metal Products and Jessica Richards-Palmquist is the Administrator for the Page Jones Richards Family Foundation. The Company is in the midst of expansion hiring 35 people in 2011 with more opportunities available.
Jones Metal Products has recently been named Best Family Business in the Women Led category by Twin City Business Magazine. Jones Metal Products has also been awarded the opportunity to participate in the Pathways to Growth grant program with Enterprise Minnesota.
